Some of the University of Guelph's business students will be sleeping outside this week to raise money in support of youth at risk. It's a part of 5 Days for the Homeless, an annual national campaign that collects donations for various youth-focused charities across Canada. Since its launch in 2005 at the University of Alberta, 5 Days for the Homeless has grown to include more than 20 campuses and raised more than $1, 212, 000.

As part of the campaign, student volunteers experience life similar to a homeless person; they are not allowed to shower, buy food or drinks, use their mobile devices or sleep indoors. They will be accepting donations for Wyndham House, a local organization that helps youth at risk.

This year, the dean of U of G's business school, Julia Christensen Hughes, will be lending her support to the cause by sleeping in Branion Plaza on the evening of March 12.

To make your donation, look for our students in Branion Plaza from March 8 to 13. Help spread the word on social media using #5DaysGuelph. Learn more on the 5 Days for the Homeless website.
