Two HFTM students took first place at a recent case competition held in New Orleans. Brittany Ho and JC Hough competed against approximately 20 other competitors from schools around the globe in the Gen YP case competition held at the annual Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) Convention & Tradeshow.

The case competition challenged students to identify seven themes they learned while at the conference and present their findings to a panel of judges. Brittany and JC’s presentation was described as, “polished and professional” and their ability to engage in critical thinking was also emphasized.

Brittany and JC attended the HFTP conference with HFTM professor Justin Taillon.

HFTP is an internationally-recognized professional organization which oversees the Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) and Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP) designations. It also writes the Uniform Systems of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) which is the set of government-mandated standards used in Canada, the U.S. and most countries around the world.

Congratulations Brittany and JC!
