Business Career Centre logoBusiness students looking to get a head start on preparing for their careers have a growing resource in the Business Career Centre. Now entering its second year, the centre has launched a new webpage (www.uoguelph.ca/business/careers) and expanded its roster of career-related activities while working closely with Co-operative Education and Career Services (CECS).

The new webpage lists helpful resources, upcoming events and a form through which students can request a meeting with Business Career Centre Manager, Mary-Anne Moroz.

“I’m excited to start another year as manager of the Business Career Centre,” says Moroz. “Last year I focused on learning what kind of support our students need and now I am thrilled to be putting that research to work, networking with employers and helping our students succeed in achieving their career development goals.”

The Business Career Centre launched last September and now offers access to workshops to help business students improve their resume and cover letter writing skills, prepare for job interviews and learn how to network effectively with prospective employers.

In addition to workshops and events, the Business Career Centre manages the new Business + Mentoring Program with Alumni Affairs and Development. Now in its pilot year, the program seeks to connect business students with alumni mentors who can provide valuable advice and industry insight.
