Outstanding Student Achievements Recognized at College of Arts Undergraduate Awards Ceremony

The University of Guelph’s College of Arts recently held an Undergraduate Awards Ceremony, recognizing the exemplary achievements of 45 students. The event highlighted the steadfast dedication and passion of College of Arts students and the generosity of donors whose contributions support their academic success. 
 

The event featured noteworthy awards such as the Dean's Scholarships, which served as a testament to the commitment of students who have consistently demonstrated exceptional achievements and showcased the abundance of academic excellence that exists within the College of Arts.  

In addition to the Dean's Scholarships, the ceremony highlighted various accolades in specialized fields, beginning with the prestigious Murdo MacKinnon Scholarship, awarded to students in certain honours major programs with the highest cumulative average in their honour subject(s).. The School of English and Theatre Studies presented awards commending achievements in language and dramatic arts, which demonstrated the wide range of student talents within the College. The School of Fine Art and Music awards recognized excellence in visual arts and music, honouring those students who have made significant contributions, have exhibited academic prowess, and have done exceptional work within these creative fields. The School of Languages and Literatures played a crucial role in acknowledging achievements in linguistic and literary studies, emphasizing the importance of cultural and linguistic diversity. Finally, the Departments of Philosophy and History recognized outstanding accomplishments in the realms of critical thinking and historical research. Visit our website to view the ceremony program. 

The ceremony created an opportunity for student award recipients and their families and friends, along with College of Arts faculty and staff to celebrate the students’ achievements while underscoring a collective drive for excellence within the   College.   

The College extends sincere congratulations to the award winners along with  heartfelt thanks to the donors supporting the awards who believe teaching and mentoring young adults is important work. The College is grateful to these donors for their continued support of its students and for making financial support and recognition of top students possible.
