My Current Research:

One of the major questions which a metaphysics of concrete objects explores is: what grounds what in the realm of concreta? Through further investigations, this question gradually converts to a question about fundamentality: Is there a fundamental level in the realm of concreta, or among concrete objects? In my research, I extend the investigation about ontological dependency, and fundamentality, into a wholly different realm of things: the realm of abstracta. There are different types of things which belong to this realm such as sets, numbers, and fictional characters. I explore answers to the questions of ontological dependency and fundamentality as they apply to concepts. Therefore, my research focuses on a metaphysics of concepts which investigates answers to these questions: What grounds what among concepts? Are there fundamental concepts? Showing insufficiency of pluralism and nihilism, I argue that monism is the best comprehensive attitude toward a metaphysics of concepts.
