Details

Curated by Noor Alé and on exhibit at the MacLaren Art Centre in Barrie, Ontario (December 1, 2018 – February 18, 2019), “Walter Bachinski: Allegories” showcases six intaglio prints by the artist, a former SOFAM professor and one of the founders of the Bachinski-Chu Print Study Collection at the University of Guelph. In this collection of prints are personal and historical allegories which reflect Bachinski’s enduring interests in the art historical canon and classical literature. His portraits and still life compositions, shaped by classical and contemporary influences, hover between the figurative and the abstract. Delicate in their restraint and faithful to form, the works evoke a quiet introspection. Come join us as Noor speaks about this exhibit and about Walter Bachinski’s legacy and work.

Hosted by School of Fine Art and Music in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Guelph.
