Professor Emeritus Suzy Lake wins 2016 Scotiabank Photography Award

Toronto artist and former University of Guelph Professor Suzy Lake has won the sixth annual Scotiabank Photography Award.

The award includes a $50,000 cash prize, a solo exhibition at the Ryerson Image Centre during the 2017 Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, and a book of the winner’s work to be published and distributed worldwide by Steidl.

Professor Emeritus Suzy Lake wins the Governor General’s Award

The Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts were created in 1999 by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Governor General of Canada. Over the past 16 years, the awards have celebrated Canada’s vibrant arts community and recognized remarkable careers in the visual and media arts.

3 Minute Thesis Competition 3MT®

SOFAM and the MA.AHVC program congratulate Paul Langis and Kimberly McDiarmid for placing 1st and 3rd in the College of Arts 3 Minute Thesis Competition 3MT®.  Paul will now go on to compete in the University of Guelph finals on March 23, 2016
