Dr. Adam Davies is a queer feminist interdisciplinary educator and Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies in the School of Fine Art and Music, College of Arts at the University of Guelph. Dr. Davies is the Graduate Program Coordinator for the Genders, Sexualities, and Bodies program and is an affilliated faculty with the undergraduate program in Sexualities, Genders, and Social Change (SXGN). Their research focuses social justice, equity, and anti-oppressive praxis within and outside of educational and schooling spaces, including issues pertinent to 2SLGBTQIA children and youth, madness, and disability justice. Dr. Davies's work often emphasizes the intersections of queer theory, trans studies, critical disability studies, critical childhood studies, and mad studies. Dr. Davies works within and across the fields of education, cultural studies, psychology, and gender and sexuality studies.

Dr. Davies has a co-edited upcoming volume with Palgrave's Critical Mental Health series entitled, Mad studies and education: Critical pedagogy and mad praxis in the classroom, as well as a co-edited handbook through Bloomsbury entitled, The Bloomsbury Handbook of Gender and Sexuality in Early Childhood. Dr. Davies recently published the co-edited book, Queering Professionalism: Pitfalls and Possibilities (University of Toronto Press) with Dr. Cameron Greensmith (Kennesaw State University). Dr. Davies has been interviewed for notable publications, including University AffairsCBC News, and CTV News for their perspectives on gender and sexual equity and justice in education.

Dr. Davies is a Registered Early Childhood Educator and Ontario Certified Teacher with a PhD in Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development and collaborative specializations in Sexual Diversity Studies and Women and Gender Studies from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Dr. Davies is a co-editor of the International Mad Studies Journal and associate editor of the International Journal of LGBTQ+ Youth Studies
