Open to the Public: This nine week course is held on Monday evenings. Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 will teach you about the key grape varieties grown around the world, tasting techniques, the different styles of wine produced and the production of spirits and liqueurs. An exam will be held on week nine and successful candidates will receive a certification.

Open to the Public: This introductory course in beer education is designed for participants interested in furthering their knowledge and interest in beer. The focus will be on brewing ingredients and processes, tasting concepts, pouring and serving concepts (including an introduction to draught systems) and food and beer pairings. Level 1 will be held on Sunday’s February 5th – 26th from 1 – 4 p.m at PJ's Restaurant - Macdonald Stewart Hall . Registration deadline is January 23, 2017.

The Visiting Speaker Series is an opportunity for invited researchers and professionals, external to the University of Guelph, to present their research topic(s) to faculty and students. On January 20, the Department of Economics and Finance will welcome Laura Turner from the University of Toronto. Anyone from the University of Guelph is welcome to attend.

The team at Escarpment Labs will join us to talk about the exciting work they do with brewing yeast, and how they are helping Ontario brewers tackle some new ground. The Leadership Call to Action Speaker Series showcases business and social-entrepreneurial leaders whose professional efforts have created social change. Attendees of the Leadership Call to Action event will be asked to commit to a change in their daily lives, no matter how insignificant, that will create social change in their organization or community. This year, the College welcomes global humanitarian, best selling author and founder of War Child, Dr. Samantha Nutt.

HAFA/HFTM Alumni Career Networking Night continues to be a success thanks to the enthusiastic participation from our alumni and students.  Our fantastic Alumni are excited to come back to the School to meet and share their career experiences with our students.
