Lang hospitality director appointed to international travel and tourism board

Statia Elliot, professor and director of Lang’s School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, has been appointed to the Travel and Tourism Research Association’s (TTRA) International Board of Directors.

The TTRA is a non-profit association that aims to enhance the quality, value, effectiveness and use of research in travel marketing, planning and development. The Association is a leader for the global community of practitioners and educators engaged in research, information management and marketing in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.

Elliot’s experience spans the fields of research, policy, marketing and management in the hospitality and tourism industry. Combining her 10 years of industry experience with academic study, Elliot will bring extensive experience and Canadian perspectives to the international board, beginning a three-year term in July 2019.
