Lang School announces $225,000 in new entrance scholarships

The Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics is excited to announce $225,000 in new entrance scholarships to support students that embody the Lang School’s vision of being a business school for a changing world, redefining leadership and business education.

The Lang Scholars Entrance Scholarships were established as part of a transformative $21-million gift by Stu and Kim Lang to name the University of Guelph business school. These scholarships are offered to outstanding students who demonstrate a commitment to being ethical and responsible leaders, to community involvement, and who view business as a force for good that can create a more sustainable world.

"The Lang School views business as a force for good, and we want to continue recruiting students that embody that vision," said Sara Mann, Interim Dean at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics. "With these new entrance scholarships, our goal is to attract the best and brightest students, who value ethics and responsible management practices, to the Lang School at the University of Guelph. We are incredibly excited to welcome our Lang Scholars."

Lang Scholar Entrance Scholarships will be available for incoming students in undergraduate, doctoral and executive programs at the Lang School.

 

Lang Scholar Doctoral Entrance Scholarships

The Lang Scholar Doctoral Entrance Scholarships includes five scholarships of $20,000 each and are offered to students entering a Lang doctoral program who demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, strong research potential, and leadership within or beyond the academic community.

Lang Scholar Executive Programs Entrance Scholarships

The Lang Scholar Executive Programs Entrance Scholarships includes four scholarships of $20,000 each and are available to students entering the Lang MBA and MA Leadership programs. The awards will be based on the demonstration of excellence in management, administration or leadership, high academic achievement, and evidence of community leadership beyond the workplace.

Lang Scholar Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships

The Lang Scholar Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships includes nine scholarships of $5,000 each. These scholarships aim to attract students entering an undergraduate Lang degree program who are committed to ethical and responsible leadership with a passion to use business as a force for good. Application details will be posted in the new year. 

 

Students applying to the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics for Fall 2020 are eligible to apply for a Lang Scholar Entrance Scholarship. The application deadline for the doctoral and executive program scholarships is February 1st, 2020. The undergraduate scholarship deadline is March 1st, 2020.
