A team of undergraduate students from the University of Guelph’s Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics earned international recognition with a bronze medal finish at the International Olympic Case Study Competition in Lausanne. Hosted at the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the competition brought together 16 top university teams from around the world to tackle real challenges facing the global sport system.
14 Lang Commerce students had the opportunity to conduct research for RBC Wealth Management last semester as part of a partnership with Lang’s International Institute for Sport Business and Leadership.
Last month, Lang business students returned to Campobello Island to work with the island community to address the complex sustainability issues they face.
It was the second year that Lang business students have travelled to the island as part of an experiential learning course in business consulting.
The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang not only brought the world’s best athletes to South Korea, it also brought tourists from around the world to cheer them on. Now that the Games are over, the post-Olympics influx of tourists is just beginning.
