Lucky Iron Fish™ receives inaugural Flourish Prize from AIM2Flourish

A Canadian innovation with University of Guelph roots is being recognized for its positive impact on the health and well-being of people around the world. Lucky Iron Fish™, the company led by Bachelor of Commerce alumnus Gavin Armstrong that distributes iron ingots to help battle anemia in developing countries, is one of 17 recipients of the inaugural Flourish Prize being awarded by AIM2Flourish.

Lucky Iron Fish is receiving the award based on a story that was written about it by business students at the University of Guelph. The article, “An Ironclad Solution” detailed the impact, inspiration, business benefits, and social and environmental benefits that Lucky Iron Fish has had since its launch. The article was authored by instructor Ruben Burga and students Caitlin Hardiment, Blake Cabeldu, Eric Boucher, Ryan Di Nunzio, and Dan Gilmour.

AIM2Flourish is the world’s first global initiative that steers future business leaders towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The prizes will be presented at the Fourth Global Forum for Business as an Agent of World Benefit being held June 14-16. Read more on this story and the award on the AIM2Flourish website.
