Gastrointestinal Disease in Nursery (Weaner) Pigs (<20 kg, 1-3 animals)
Fresh tissues: Use a separate Whirl-Pak bag for each sample – use provided stickers and marker to label bags with the tissue name and pig designation (pig A, B, or C).
Formalin-fixed tissues: Use 1 sample jar per pig and label with pig designation (pig A, B, or C). For solid organs, samples should be approximately 1-2 cm2. For intestine, take approximately 3 cm long segments and partially open longitudinally with scissors (to allow formalin to contact the mucosal surface).
