Emily Brouwer

DVM, DipPath, Diplomate ACVP, Veterinary Pathologist

Emily Brouwer was born and raised in Port Perry, Ontario and started working for a local mixed animal practice at the age of 15. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph in 2009 and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2013. Having developed a strong interest in pathology during her veterinary studies, she immediately enrolled in an Anatomic Pathology residency at the Ontario Veterinary College and attained board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2017. Emily has been working in primarily in avian, exotics and fur-bearing mammal pathology since she started at AHL in 2017, and currently works for both the avian and mammalian diagnostic services. Her academic interests are broad, and she has particular interest in avian diseases, ocular pathology, and veterinary forensics.
