Helen Oliver was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario and is the mother of 2 grown boys. She joined the Veterinary Services Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food at the Guelph Laboratory in January of 1977. In 1997, she joined the newly created Animal Health Laboratory with the University of Guelph.
Helen is currently the secretary-treasurer of the Omega Tau Sigma Fraternity House Inc. (OTS) and has been for over 30 years. She was awarded the Hooker Memorial Award in 1992 for her ongoing contribution to the fraternity house.
As the Administrative Assistant to Director of the Animal Health Lab, she supports in most of the organization’s activities from financial to social events, and has continued to enjoy working alongside her co-workers which she considers family.
