Josepha DeLay was originally from the east coast of the US but moved to Canada to attend Dalhousie University, where she completed a BSc in biochemistry.  She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1988 and then practiced as an equine and small animal veterinarian in New Brunswick for 8 years.  She returned to OVC to complete a DVSc in anatomic pathology, graduating in 1999. Her graduate research focused on mechanisms of innate immunity in pigs.

Josepha joined the AHL as a veterinary pathologist in 2000, and became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2003. Her diagnostic pathology duties involve gross postmortem examination and histopathology for food-producing and companion animals.  She also supervises routine testing and test development by the AHL immunohistochemistry laboratory.
