Scottish Studies Fall 2013 Meet & Greet

Everyone is invited to join us for our annual Scottish Studies Meet and Greet on Tuesday, September 10 from 2 to 3 in MacKinnon 132. This is a chance to hear about upcoming Scottish Studies events and opportunities (including funding/scholarships, our speaker series, and volunteer roles). The Centre for Scottish Studies organizes various speaking and social events throughout the year, publishes an academic journal, and is involved in community programs.

Tobacco Production in Essex County: Matthew Elder MRP Defence

On Thursday, September 5th, Matthew Elder defends his Master's Degree Major Research Paper: "Growing the 'Pernicious' Plant: Tobacco Production in Essex County, Ontario, 1900-1918." Orientation Week: Meetings for Majors

This is a chance to meet other first-year students who have expressed an interest in Philosophy, meet a couple of Philosophy professors (Karyn Freedman and Mark McCullagh), and the President of the Undergraduate Philosophy Students Society (Magdalena Ivasecko).  Probably some snacks too.
