'Unholy Alliance', Portugal, Rhodesia and South Africa: Filipe Ribeiro de Menezes talk
On Friday, March 15, the Department of History and HIST*3910 present: Prof. Filipe Ribeiro de Menezes of the National University of Ireland at Maynooth: "The Rise and Fall of the 'Unholy Alliance': Portugal, Rhodesia and South Africa, 1961-1980”
Dr. Ribeiro de Menezes is a scholar of contemporary Portuguese & Spanish history, as well as the First World War and its effects and diplomatic history in general. He recently published a biography of António de Oliveira Salazar, in English and Portuguese.

Friday, March 15th, the Middle East Scholars Society is proud to present a talk by Dr. Tariq Ramadan: "Changes in the Middle East and the Ethical and Political Challenges"
Dr. Tariq Ramadan is Professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies at Oxford University (Oriental Institute, St. Anthony's College), President of the European Muslim Network think tank in Brussels, and Director of the Research Centre of Islamic Legislation and Ethics in Doha, Qatar.
