Philosophy of Science at Guelph
Philosophy of science examines the conceptual foundations and methodological approaches that shape science and make it a distinctive form of human enquiry. Philosophers of science explore questions around scientific theorization and its relationship to empirical data, the assumptions and biases that sometimes inform scientific research, and the nature and implications of scientific discovery. Philosophers of science look at science both as a general enterprise and examine specific branches of scientific enquiry (e.g. physics, biology, medicine, psychology).
Guelph has strengths in biomedical ethics, philosophy of biology and the environment, and the philosophy of physics.
