Human Kinetics 5K

The 9th annual Human Kinetics 5K is taking place Sunday, Oct. 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the university Arboretum. Grab your running shoes, gather your friends and join us for a 5K run (or walk) through the Arboretum! 

Registration is $15, with proceeds going toward United Way Guelph. An e-transfer must be made to hksa@uoguelph.ca immediately after filling out the registration form to confirm your spot.

Registration is open to all University of Guelph students, staff, faculty and alumni, as well as Guelph community members. You may register as an individual or with a team. Ensure that you have all team members’ first and last names as well as a team name for registration.

All participants will be entered into door prizes featuring items and gift cards from local Guelph businesses. And, of course, we have some fun stuff in store for our race day winners! 

Snacks will be provided at the event along with water refills. We ask that you bring your own reusable water bottle to the event and ensure you wear proper running shoes and dress for the weather! 

The HK5K Team Challenge:

Along with individual winners we will be having a special team challenge. The score for the team challenge will be calculated as follows:

• Score = x/y: the team with the lowest score will win a trophy and bragging rights until next year's HK5K
• x = sum of the four fastest times from the team. The faster your team is, the lower the score will be!
• y = number of team members who successfully complete the course (time does not matter). The more members on your team the lower your score will be!

Registration will close Friday, October 20 at 5 p.m. OR when all spots are filled. A confirmation email will be sent out to those who register the morning of Saturday, October 21 with more details for the day of the run!
