U of G ranked No. 3 in Canada for Scientific Impact in the Life and Earth Sciences category, by Leiden Rankings
The University of Guelph has been ranked No. 3 in Canada, and 68th in the world, for Scientific Impact in the Life and Earth Sciences category, by the Leiden Rankings.
Across all categories, the University of Guelph placed 13th for Scientific Impact in Canada.
Produced by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands, the Leiden Rankings report specifically on the research performance of universities worldwide. The rankings draw on bibliographic data from scientific publications produced by 1,594 major universities worldwide, using the Web of Science as the primary data source.

Early in 2025, Times Higher Education ranked the University of Guelph among the top 150 universities in the world for Life Sciences for the second year in a row. Within Canada, U of G was ranked No. 6 for Life Sciences, including No. 4 for Life Sciences Teaching and No. 5 for Life Sciences Research Environment.
