Iron Tracker App

Last May was Hemochromatosis Month – a month to bring awareness to a potentially fatal (if left untreated) genetic disorder that causes the accumulation of iron in the body. After being diagnosed with the disorder, Professor Gary Grewal decided to develop an app to help manage his condition. Together, with Dr. Hamilton-Wright and students Frank Liu, Andrew D'Angelo, and John Carter, he developed a mobile app, called Iron Tracker.

SoCS at the Ontario Universities’ Fair

Over the weekend of September 19th, 20th and 21st, The School of Computer Science attended the Ontario Universities' Fair, the largest educational fair in Canada.

Prospective students and parents visited the University of Guelph booth to talk personally with student representatives, professors, recruitment officers and academic counselors to learn about the University's academic programs, co-operative education department, admission requirements, residences, student life and anything else that may help students make a decision about which university to choose.

Yesterday the School of Computer Science celebrated the beginning of a new semester with the SoCS Annual BBQ.

To welcome the new undergraduates, existing students, staff, and faculty flocked to Johnston Green to enjoy the great weather and some great food. The new SoCS t-shirts were also distributed to first year students. Designed by recent graduate and entrepreneur Ben Douek, the shirts were a big hit.
