Guelph Engineering Professional Development Conference

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Guelph is proud to host the 2019 Professional Development Conference (PDC). The School of Engineering, Faculty, Engineering Alumni Association, Co-operative Education and Career Services, Engineering Society, as well as the Alumni Affairs and Development department are committed to making this year’s PDC a success.

The purpose of PDC is to bring insight from professionals, networking opportunities and academic growth to all of its attendees. This event will provide the tools undergraduate engineering students need to acquire career opportunities. The event will also enhance students’ ability to market themselves and their qualities to potential employers, which is essential to their success. Thus, the importance of effective resume and cover letter writing will be emphasized, as well as the need to develop specific skills sought after by desired employers. It is critical for the progress of both undergraduate students and higher educational institutions that students develop an understanding of what is required from them in the workforce, which is not always proliferated in the classroom.

Throughout the conference, attendees will hear from keynote speakers and many industry professionals about success, the importance of leadership and how to make the most of an undergraduate degree. The PDC will provide participants with the knowledge and tools needed to help them in the future by giving students practical advice, critical to networking and employment success.

The Professional Development Conference will be happening on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 9am to 3pm.

Please note, people may purchase their tickets in person during Eng Soc office hours.
