University of Guelph business alumnus Gavin Armstrong appeared on last night’s season premiere of Dragons’ Den, pitching Lucky Iron Fish and his social enterprise Lucky Iron Fish Enterprise (LIFE).

LIFE is a Toronto-based social enterprise dedicated to reducing iron deficiency through simple innovations.

Developing a business model that gives back to those in need by donating a Lucky Iron Fish with each purchase, his entrepreneurialism and business embodies the spirit of the University of Guelph’s commitment to improve life.

World Wildlife Fund Canada is inviting University of Guelph students to join the Living Planet @ Campus program, which promotes sustainability and certifies students as Living Planet Leaders.

While some kids dreamt of becoming a fireman or policeman, Dylan knew he wanted to be a farmer. But growing up in a city, Dylan saw first-hand the misconceptions that people had about farming. While in the Bachelor of Commerce, Food and Agricultural Business program, he learned how the business of farming truly worked and realized that farmers need a voice to communicate to the broader public about where their food comes from. That’s when the planning for his documentary, Before the Plate, first began.

Recognized as one of the leading scholars in the business of sports, O’Reilly has authored or co-authored eight books, 14 case studies in the Harvard/Stanford series, and more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles.
