AHL Kemptville Open-No Postmortems today May 15

Posted on Friday, May 15th, 2026

There are no pathologists on site today at Kemptville, and therefore no postmortems available today.  However, the Kemptville lab will remain open today for deliveries and any carcasses will be stored safely at appropriate temperatures (cooler or freezer) to preserve architecture.  Please call the lab if further instructions are required.  Small animal and poultry postmortems can still be performed during the septic blockage; however, larger animals such as calves and cows will have to be stored until further notice.  Submission of fresh and formalin-fixed tissues from on-farm postmortems may be a quicker means of obtaining information from critical cases.

We are still working to resolve the septic tank issue and expect it to be cleaned out soon. We will inform you as soon as we are able to perform large animal postmortems.

Our sincere apologies for this inconvenience.
