Alan McDougall's New Book! Cold War Football: A History in Ten Matches

Good News!  Dr. Alan McDougall has just co-authored a new book with Tony Shaw:

Cold War Football: A History in Ten Matches (Cambridge University Press, 2026).

The book appears on June 11, opening day of the 2026 World Cup, and includes accounts of a number of important historical World Cup matches among the ten. Cold War Football has already been reviewed favorably in the Wall Street Journal. If you happen to be in the UK, the book launch is happening Friday, June 5, at Waterstones Piccadilly in London, where Tony and Allan will be in conversation with the football historian David Goldblatt.
