Hussein A. Abdullah, Ph.D., P.Eng

Dr. Abdullah received his M.Sc. in robotics and Ph.D. in mechatronics, manufacturing and automation from the University of Glasgow, U.K. in 1988 and 1992 respectively. He has over 20 years industrial and academic experience in the U.K., the Middle East and North America. Dr. Abdullah joined the University of Guelph in 2000 and has been active in undergraduate and post graduate teaching as well as research and development.

His research activities have centered on the development of robots to automate various non-industrial applications, including a therapeutic robot that assists in the rehabilitation of stroke victims suffering from impairment of the upper limbs. He has served on several committees at the University, College and School levels, is a current member of Senate and has been Associate Director for Graduate Studies in the School of Engineering May 2008 - December 2009
