Sara McNorton

Sara Mcnorton - HK Alumnus 200 - Human Anatomy instructor and lab demonstrator

I graduated from the University of Guelph in 2000 with a BSc in Human Kinetics.  I also have an MSc in Forensic Science from Michigan State University- graduated in 2004.

I am currently the Human Anatomy Instructor and Laboratory Demonstrator in the Biology Department at the University of Windsor.  I enjoy this job because I love anatomy and find interacting with and teaching students at the undergraduate level extremely rewarding.
I am grateful for the incredible opportunity to take the Human Anatomy course that UofG offers.  It gave me an experience working with a full human cadaver, which is unique to other institutions.  As a result of this experience, I was able to obtain the position I have now by way of my increased knowledge-base and exposure to the human body that I was able to get while in the Human Kinetics program.

What I liked most about the University of Guelph is the incredibly beautiful campus and its warm, inviting atmosphere. The campus has a unique ‘spirit’ to it, which, unless you have spent some time there, you can’t appreciate. I can’t say that I’ve felt this spirit on any other campus I’ve been to.

The advice I'd give to current undergraduate students and future University of Guelph students is to study what you love, get to know your professors, get involved!
