The Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences offers two undergraduate honours programs, a minor, as well as one major which is presented in conjunction with other departments:
- Note: Major in Biomedical Sciences is offered in conjunction with the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Ontario Veterinary College
- The department also offers a minor in Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences
A Bachelor of Applied Science - Major Kinesiology - Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion is also offered through the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences in conjunction with the University of Guelph-Humber.
Programs of Study At the University of Guelph:
Each of the majors encompasses the basic biological and physical sciences together with social sciences and humanities. Students study a common core which includes calculus, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, physics, statistics, nutrition, and physiology. Human anatomy is in the core for Human Kinetics and Bio-Medical Science. After completing the core, students' course selection reflects the major that they have chosen.
All majors include a large number of electives. Some of these must be courses offered by the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences, but many can be chosen from a wide variety of subject areas. The normal course load is five classes per semester.

The curriculum provides a strong scientific background in the biological, biochemical, physical and mathematical sciences. Some of the core areas of study are anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, nutrition, fitness and lifestyle assessment, exercise prescription, biophysics, biomechanics and motor learning, as well as health counselling and health promotion. Your coursework can prepare you for a future career in occupational therapy or physiotherapy, chiropractics, sports medicine, health promotion, or in a business or education setting
