About Wellness@Work

In 2017, the Wellness@Work initiative was launched at the University of Guelph with a vision for a thriving workforce, organization and community. The initiative is an opportunity to comprehensively understand the University of Guelph's existing support and assistance to employees, to strengthen our supports, and to implement new initiatives to create a truly healthy workplace across all campuses and research stations.  Our commitment is to the "whole" person, not just as an employer, but as a responsible workplace. 

The initiative is led by the Associate Vice-President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Martha Harley, supported by Wellness@Work Advisor, Isidora Nežić and the Wellness@Work Advisory Committee. 

“Supporting a healthy workplace at the University of Guelph is a priority for senior leadership,” says Harley. “This initiative has far reaching benefits for all of our employees. It will help us go further in creating an environment where everyone can be their best selves.”

Workplace health is about more than just physical well-being. The University’s customized program for faculty and staff is based on Excellence Canada’s comprehensive approach, a standard that includes four elements:
