What is the Partners for Life Program?

The Partners for Life (PFL) program brings people together with the common goal of supporting the most vulnerable people in our communities. Together, people unite to help raise awareness, donate blood, or support stem cell or organ donation registries. When you make your Canadian Blood Services donor account, or if you already have one, you just need to link your account to U of G's team.

How do you join U of G's PFL team?

To join the team:

  1. Sign in or create an account at blood.ca/en/join-team/UNIV001509 or use the GiveBlood app.
  2. Select ‘Partners’ from the menu, then ‘Join an existing team’
  3. Search for: University of Guelph
  4. Make sure to book your appointment!

Who can join U of G's Partners for Life Team?

Anyone part of the U of G community can link their Canadian Blood Services donor account to U of G's PFL team.

This includes if you are a U of G:

  • Staff;
  • Faculty;
  • Student ;
  • Alumnus;
  • Retiree; or even
  • Friend, partner/spouse, or family member of any of the above.

What does Donating Blood Have to do with Well-being?

There are many components to well-being, with community well-being being one of them. U of G exists in the community of Guelph, as well as all other communities where our Ridgetown campus, Guelph-Humber campus, and research stations are located. Community well-being speaks to ways organizations can be involved in the community and how this can improve the health and well-being of our community members. As we donate blood, we are also working towards supporting the health and well-being of our community members.
