Details

Join us in the Waasamowin on May 4, 2026 for the kick-off event for Be Well, Be Safe Week.

This gathering is an opportunity to step away from your workspace, connect with colleagues, and reflect on how we work together as people.

Psychological safety is essential to healthy, effective workplaces. Yet even with the best of intentions, it can be challenged. Psychological safety requires a shared responsibility: leaders set the tone, but everyday peer interactions also shape psychological safety. Misunderstandings, stress, change, or competing priorities can create small ruptures in trust and connection, often without anyone meaning harm.

Rather than avoiding these moments, we will spend time focusing on how we notice, acknowledge, and repair safety when it breaks. Repair is a normal and necessary part of sustaining positive working relationships. When we address ruptures with curiosity, care, and respect, we strengthen trust, support well‑being, and create workplaces where people feel safe to contribute, learn, and collaborate.

In this session, you’ll meet new colleagues from across the University, engage in thoughtful and energizing conversations, and leave with practical, human‑centered actions you can use to maintain psychological safety and positive working relationships.
