The University of Guelph Honey Bee Research Centre is a leader in apiculture, research, and education. Honey bees play a key role in agricultural productivity and ecosystem sustainability by providing pollination services to crops and wild plants. Our mandate is to help honey bees continue this vital work.
The group will experience a 60 minute tour of the facilities at the HBRC. At the start of the tour, participants will gather in the new Discovery Area classroom. Tour participants will then recieve a tour of the new HBRC facility, including access to view behind-the-scenes areas such as the research lab and extracting and packing facilities. Finally, there will be an opportunity to view our apiary grounds behind the building.
