Music BA

Study music history, theory, ethnomusicology, composition, pedagogy, jazz, and improvisation, popular music, digital music, and performance.

Perform in our newly renovated performing arts wing with our award-winning choirs or ensembles. Receive 1-1 music instruction in classical or modern forms of performance including voice, turntables, drums, jazz and more. Auditions are not required for admission, but entry into specific performance courses will require the successful completion of an audition.
 

Experience

  • Enhance your performance skills through applied music – 1-1 music instruction for University credit. Turntables, voice, jazz guitar, or another instrument? Requirements and audition dates available at xyz.ca (auditions required for applied music, but not mandatory for program entry).
  • Industry connections. Develop important relationships with industry professionals through guest speakers and experiential learning courses.
  • Perform as part of our award-winning ensembles including the Gryphon Singers choir, who placed 2nd in the 2019 National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs.
  • Supportive. Our passionate faculty will help you thrive in our small learning environment. Many courses are limited to less than 20 students, allowing for more interaction and feedback.
  • New facilities. Currently, under renovation, you will benefit from new performance and practices spaces.
