Dr. Jennifer Henke's presentation deals with a specific field of medicine from the perspective of literary and cultural history. It addresses the spheres of midwifery and obstetrics and asks how cultural artefacts such as novels as well as illustrations negotiated discourses of reproduction during the Enlightenment in Britain.

Future students are welcomed to campus to audition for the University’s Applied Music program. Those interested in auditioning on February 20th or in the future are encouraged to contact the Applied Music Coordinator, Dr. Alyssa Woods at awoods08@uoguelph.ca.

A mixed media art installation by University of Guelph students documenting the history of the Guelph Black Heritage Society and the renovation & transfomation of Heritage Hall. "AFTERSHOCK" featuring youth art will be displayed at Capacity 3 gallery. 

The School of Fine Art and Music invite everyone to attend their annual Juried Art Show Silent Auction.  The benefit auction is open all week at the Boarding House Gallery.  There are over 100 artworks to bid on, including pieces from SOFAM's faculty, undergraduate and graduate students.  The Silent Auction acts as the main fundraiser for the Juried Art Show where all proceeds go back to the students, predominantly through student awards. Advanced bidding is open Monday, February 3 to Friday, February 7 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm daily.

History alum Amy McBride will present her MA research “The Voices Behind Change: Women’s Liberation During the 1970’s at the University of Guelph” on February 4 at 7:30 pm at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 161 Norfolk St.
