Dr. James Hougland, professor of Chemistry and Biology at Syracuse University and adjunct professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, is the next speaker in Molecular and Cellular Biology's Seminar Speaker Series. He will present Hungry like the GOAT: The chemistry, biology and endocrinology of ghrelin O-acyltransferase.

Dr. Maria Aderuza Horst, professor in the Faculty of Nutrition and at the Federal University of Goias in Brazil, will be the next speaker in the Human Health and Nutritional Sciences' Seminar Speaker Series. She will be speaking about Precision Nutrition: Insights from Brazilian Studies and Global Perspective. The virtual event is open to all and no registration is required.

To help students prepare for this year's 3MT competitions, we are hosting two interactive workshops facilitated by Jodie Salter (University of Guelph Library, Writing Specialist), Jason Dodd (University of Guelph Library, Science Learning Specialist) and Jessie Kennedy (Manager, John F. Dr. Rachel Kopec, associate professor of human nutrition at the Department of Human Sciences at Ohio State University, will be presenting on "Leverage Dietary Bioactive Interactions for Improved Delivery," as part of the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences' Seminar Speaker Series. 

Marie Meloche, the director of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, has worked with grassroots organizations, local and international NGOs in Canada and the Middle East before joining the Jane Goodall Institute team in 2018. As the Programs Manager, she supports the implementation of community-centered conservation projects in Africa and Canada. She believes that the key to sustainable development is to build meaningful partnerships with communities and local actors, with women at the center of the locally led development strategies.
