Arts & Science Connections: A Deconstructed Conference about Career Possibilities

Throughout the conference, we'll explore the importance of transferable skills and delve into diverse topics, including:
HK5K run
Join us for the annual HK5K. A 5km fun race run hosted by the Human Kinetics Student Association to raise money for a relevant charity. This year, the money raised will be donated to United Way. In order to register, please send an e-transfer of $15 to hksa@uoguelph.ca with your name. The first 20 participants will receive a protein shaker and all participants will be entered in a draw to win a door prize.

Pediatric Medicine & Med School Career Info Session
Are you interested in a career in medicine? Want to know all the ins and outs of med school? Curious about what residency is like? Attend this session to hear from alumna, Sydney Brannen (BSc, Biomedical Science, UofG, 2019; MSc, Human Health and Nutritional Sciences, UofG, 2020; MB, BCh, BAO, Medicine, University College Cork, 2024) who has recently started her residency in pediatrics at Westchester Medical Centre in New York. Sydney's presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. This session will be moderated by Julia Leary, Career Advisor.

The Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences welcomes Dr. Nate Bartman, postdoctoral fellow in the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences at Brock University, who will present on Environmental Extremes, Performance and Health as part of the HHNS Seminar Series. One Health Seminar Series: Using a One Health approach to understanding and mitigating risks to swimmers
Dr. David McCarthy, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Waterborne Pathogens: Surveillance, Prediction, and Mitigation, leads a multidisciplinary team of researchers from the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS), the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) and the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). The team aims to understand how pathogens from human and animal waste move through urban water cycles, how they interact with humans and how to reduce the health risks they pose.
