Students collaborate to address industry challenges in agriculture

On Friday, March 6th the University of Guelph hosted the third annual Improve Life Challenge, a one-day immersive experience where interdisciplinary student teams work with community partners to develop solutions to real-world problems.

The theme for this year’s Improve Life Challenge was Hack the Farm in a Climate of Change, which focused on challenges facing the agriculture and food sector including aging demographics, advancements in technology, and pressure for sustainable practices.

Two Lang students to compete at UofG grad research competition

On Wednesday, March 4th the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics hosted the Lang Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, a competition for graduate students to consolidate and present their research in three minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges.

Lang students engage with senior Sportsnet reps in 2nd year course

On Tuesday, February 25, Lang students in a second-year sports business course had the opportunity to engage with a panel of several senior staff at Sportsnet, including guest speaker and Lang alumnus Anthony Attard, the Senior Vice President, Sponsorship, Marketing and NHL Sportsnet at Rogers Media.

Lang grad uses tech to reduce carbon footprint in retail industry

For Lucas Koren, starting a business didn’t wait until after graduation. While in the final year of his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Lang, Lucas developed an online clothing platform as part of a capstone management course. Today, his company – Fit Me Right Up (FMRU) – is using this new technology to minimize returns and shipping costs and provide a solution to the retail industry’s massive carbon footprint.

Support the Lang Students’ Association as they team up for charity

In support of the Coldest Night of the Year campaign, the Lang Students’ Association has put together a team with the goal of raising $1,000 and beyond. The money raised will support Lakeside Hope House, a local charity organization that provides programs and front-line services for those in our community who need it the most.
