Canada Research Chairs (CRC)

The Canada Research Chairs Program (CRCP) invests $300 million a year to attract and retain some of the world's most accomplished and promising minds. In 2016, the CRCP instituted its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Plan, which “focuses on improving the program’s governance, transparency, and monitoring of its measures and in addressing its long-standing equity, diversity, and inclusion challenges.” All universities were required by the CRCP to fulfill public transparency requirements and to develop EDI Action Plans by December 15, 2017.
