This program has been postponed by the Learning & Development team. 

This program is designed to support employees who have recently been promoted into a supervisory of management role or someone who has been identified as moving into that role. You will learn what it means to be a new supervisor/manager, everyday concerns and pitfalls you may experience, and strategies for addressing them. The program will introduce you to tools that will help you make effective decisions with respect to your employees, and will define the knowledge, skills and aptitudes that are vital to a new supervisor/manager’s success.

Please note this is a 2 part program. You are automatically registered in part 2 when you register for part 1.

Agenda:

  • What is the role of a supervisor/manager?
  • What challenges do new supervisor’s face in their new role? Lack of skill and knowledge; Having to recalibrate relationships with former peers; Not being seen as credible; Balancing workload
  • Critical performance components when supervising/managing and how to apply them
  • (Providing clear expectations, enhancing ability, promoting engagement)
