Collection Protocol
Collect tissue/fluid/exudate into a leakproof sterile container or swab each sample and submit swabs in bacterial transport medium (ESwab recommended). For urine submission, swabs are not recommended. Refrigerate immediately. This test is not for fecal samples; see bacterial culture, fecal.
Additional Information
For isolation of aerobic bacteria. Set-up charge will be applied once to each case. See Bacterial culture, set-up charge for fee. Minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) susceptibility testing for only ONE significant pathogen is included. Additional susceptibilities must be requested and extra charge per bacterial isolate will apply.
