Teaching Talk #5: Assessments, Student Collaboration, and Integrity

This winter's shift to an alternative delivery method created tensions between maintaining academic integrity and recognizing equity and mental health challenges. In this talk, we focus on a Math project delivered to 600 CEPS second year students and an Engineering exam delivered to 250 Engineering first year students.

Teaching Talk #4: Who's Afraid of Digital Assessments?

Integrating digital assessments such as blogs, videos and podcasts into your course can provide students the opportunity to develop much needed digital and professional skills, but also poses new challenges for instructors and students alike. Join staff from the library's Media Studio to discuss the process of selecting an appropriate assessment type, examine sample learning outcomes and learn about available supports. Hear from student staff who have assisted students in this process and have worked at developing their own digital literacies.

Teaching Talk #3: What is Accessible Multimedia?

The core areas of multimedia accessibility are: synchronized captions, text transcripts and/or audio descriptions. This webinar will help you understand what is required, how to meet the requirements and what resources are available to make your digital content accessible. Accessibility should be considered during the design phase when choosing to use a digital platform to present and combine text, graphics, audio, and video with links and tools that let the user navigate, interact, create, and communicate.
