Film: "Die Farbe" (2010)

H.P. Lovecraft’s influence on the genres of horror and weird fiction cannot be understated – if anything, his work has subverted various literary, film and musical genres. But what about philosophy? How might the man who penned tales of ancient creatures, “monstrosities of geometric law” and “the most grotesque extremes of sinister bizarrerie” reach outside of popular culture and into philosophical texts and discussion?

Drawing in part from Graham Harman’s Weird Realism: Lovecraft and Philosophy, Josh Grant-Young will read from portions of the original weird tale, explore elements of the Lovecraftian Mythos and screen a film adaptation of the short story.
