Guelph Bird Day is back and birdier than ever! Join the University of Guelph Arboretum and Bird Safe Guelph on Saturday, May 10th from 9 AM to 1 PM at The Arboretum Centre for a free, drop-in celebration of all things bird! This all-ages event has something for everyone. Take part in free guided bird walks, check out hands-on activities, and connect with local nature-based groups at their tables. Plus, Wild Ontario will be there with their live raptors for an up-close look at some incredible feathered ambassadors.

Registration has been extended for the 20th annual CBS Graduate Student Symposium! The Graduate Student Symposium will include oral presentation sessions, a poster session, a catered lunch with special keynote speakers, and conclude with an event-filled grad student social at the Brass Taps, featuring trivia and other games.

Documentary Screening: Butterflies on the Brink

Butterflies on the Brink: The Story of the Mottled Duskywing tells the story of a University of Guelph project to reintroduce an endangered butterfly. The documentary follows the research and recovery team, led Dr. Ryan Norris from the Department of Integrative Biology and biologist Jessica Linton, with support from the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory team, as they work to reintroduce the mottled duskywing butterfly to Pinery Provincial Park.

HHNS Seminar: Using exercise and nutritional supplements to promote brain health across the lifespan

Dr. Jeremy Walsh is an assistant professor of kinesiology in the Faculty of Science at McMaster University. His research focuses on characterizing the physiological mechanisms underlying the cognitive enhancing effects of exercise and exogenous ketone supplementation in humans. His work explores the effects of these interventions on cerebral blood flow, BDNF, and cognition in cognitively normal adults and adults with elevated dementia risk.
