Lang Business Student & Alumni Named OHI's Top 30 Under 30

The Top 30 Under 30 is an annual recognition program from the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) that celebrates the hospitality and foodservice industry's top 30 young professionals in all sectors.  This high profile recognition program celebrates and recognizes future leaders of the hospitality and foodservice industry who are and will make a difference!

GSIC students

First-year students compete in stock pitch competition

The Guelph Student Investment Council (GSIC) hosted their second annual Battle of the PA event on Thursday, March 28th, a stock-pitch competition featuring first-year GSIC analysts.

The competition included all ten first-year analysts, who created and pitched their very first stock pitches. The first-year analysts joined the team in October, with a few months to gain as much knowledge and information as possible before their big pitch.

Two Lang grad students to compete in research competition

On March 20, the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics hosted their college heat for the 2019 Three-Minute Thesis Competition (3MT), a competition for graduate students to present their research and its wider impact in three minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges.

In addition to prizes for the top three competitors, the top two students from the college heat move on to represent the Gordon S. Lang School of Business at the University of Guelph’s final competition.

U of G real estate club host industry professionals for real estate investments panel

The University of Guelph’s Real Estate and Housing Students’ Association (REHSA) hosted their annual Winter Industry Night last week, connecting business and real estate students with professionals from the real estate industry.

This year’s Industry Night featured an informative panel discussion on the topic of Real Estate Investments. The discussion looked at the investments industry, company investment theses, and advice for students on how to break into this industry.
