Chinese Philosophy (PHIL*3920)

Details

A survey of Chinese philosophy, focusing especially on Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and Neoconfucianism. Class discussion will be devoted to figures between the 6th century BCE (Confucius and Lao Tzu) and the 16th century CE (Wang Yang-ming). Other philosophers will be dealth with in the essays and outside reading.
