Code and section: PHIL*1030*01

Term: Fall 2019

Instructor: John Hacker-Wright

Details

This course will investigate love and sex philosophically. Philosophical investigations of these issues focus on the questions what are they? and are they (at least sometimes) good? Concerning love we will ask questions including: is love a biological reaction, or something socially constructed? Can one be in love with more than one person at a time? Is love an essential ingredient of a good life? What is sex? Are there forms of sexual behavior that are wrong or perverted? Students will develop views on these issues and work within groups to produce podcasts that may be aired on CFRU.
