Jeff Cutler, BCSLA, AALA, OALA, CSLA, ENV SP
Founding Principal of space2place

Lecture title: "Nothing is Normal"

Jeff is a landscape architect, urban designer and the founding principal of space2place. He has dedicated the past 25 years to furthering the field of landscape architecture in Canada through his leadership of complex design and planning projects. He is a strong advocate of integrating ecology, ethnography, engineering and public consultation into the design and transformation of public places.

Jeff graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph in 1994 and was inducted into the CSLA college of Fellows in 2021. He began his career at Phillips Farevaag Smallenberg and left to start space2place in 2001. His practice at space2place has evolved from small private and public projects to focus on complex and large-scale public places and infrastructure projects. With Jeff’s leadership the studio has maintained a tight focus on unique, high-quality public projects within the realm of both built and natural environments. Some of his notable projects include the Garden City Play Environment, Kinsmen Park in Saskatoon and the North Shore Spirit Trail. His most recent work has centered on adapting landscapes for a changing climate. These projects include the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant and Park, East Park in downtown Vancouver and East Fraserlands foreshore park along the Fraser River.
