Founded in 2014 by six landscape architecture students, the Society for Ecological Restoration (University of Guelph chapter) is a club focused on providing hands-on experience to all students with an interest in restoration.  From brownfield projects to pollinator gardens, SERUG has hosted guest lectures, workshops and events on a variety of topics.   Check out some of our past projects on:

The Rural Policy Learning Commons is hosting a webinar on January 24, 2017 starting at 4:00 pm CST. The webinar will feature David McInnes from the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute discussing "Achieving What’s Possible for the Agri-food Sector: Through the Lens of Strategically Managing 'Natural Capital'. To get people of SEDRD introduced the LAMP (Landscape Architecture Mentorship Program), we will be hosting a movie night for all those interested in the Pit next Wednesday, January 18th from 6pm-10pm. Some pizza and drinks will be provided while everyone gets to talk. This is a spin off of the first movie night to help strengthen the ties between the students of our school. Snacks will be available for people to munch on while the movie plays as well.

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, is hosting a one-day knowledge exchange event to showcase rural research being conducted at the University of Guelph. The symposium is an opportunity for graduate students to share their research with researchers, policy analysts, and program staff with the OMAFRA.

On November 22, 2016, the Rural Policy Learning Commons is hosting a free webinar titled “The Hutterites in North America: Confronting The Digital Age”. The webinar will be presented by Dr. John (Jock) Lehr of The University of Winnipeg. The webinar starts at 10:00 am CST.
